Announcing Open Call for Submissions to Vex Mosaic

Call for Submissions

Vex Mosaic, the Magazine of Speculative thought, is now accepting submissions for essays to appear in its monthly e-zine. Those interested in submitting a proposal for an essay should visit http://www.wonderthingstudios.com/vex-mosaic-submissions/ and complete the Essay Prospectus Form.

Vex Mosaic is seeking essays and commentary that use speculative fiction as a lens to examine some aspect of culture and society. The ideal proposal will open the reader’s awareness to something that has been overlooked (and WHY it was overlooked), a revelation of new insights about the world around us framed in the media – comics, film, novels, games, etc. – by which we define and identify ourselves.

There are three essay presentation formats in the Vex Mosaic feed: Web Essays, Featured Essays, and Exclusive Essays

Web Essays (1,000 to 2,000 words) are presented on the Vex Mosaic site and may be utilized in the upcoming Vex Mosaic podcast.

Featured Essays (1,000 to 2,000 words) are exceptional works by authors, producers, scholars, and arts… thought-leaders in the world of creative expression. Featured essays will comprise the bulk of the Vex Mosaic podcast and YouTube channel. Writers of Featured Essays are compensated .03 per word for original work, or .01 per word for reprints.

Exclusive Essays (2,000 to 4,000 words) are the very best examples of the Vex Mosaic vision and are reserved for the Vex Mosaic Patreon feed, as well as being published in quarterly e-books and audiobooks. Writers of Featured Essays are compensated .05 per word for original work, or .03 per word for reprints OR may receive an 80% revenue share of all net proceeds.

Authors of all published essays will be credited and showcased on the Contributors pages of the Vex Mosaic website.

All submissions will be considered and their authors contacted within 2 weeks of submitting their prospectus. Any questions should be directed to Dave Robison, Vex Mosaic Editorial Director, at dave [at] vexmosaic [dot] com.
